"The business community meets the university"
The April regulars' table of the Wirtschaftsjunioren Altmark (WJA) took place on Thursday, April 28th on the Stendal campus. The occasion of the evening was an exchange of experiences between the Altmark's young business community and representatives of the university and the Department of Economics.
The Vice-Rector for University Management and Marketing, Prof. Dr. Volker Wiedemer, welcomed the participants in the Audimax. After a brief introduction of the Junior Circle, their projects and goals, the professors attending - Prof. Dr. Christian Meisel, Prof. Dr. Torsten Heitjans, Prof. Dr. Fabian Behrendt and Prof. Dr. Burkhard von Velsen-Zerweck - from the Department of Economics introduced themselves and shared what they expect from the young business community.
An active exchange then took place. The business representatives were able to obtain competent advice on topics such as logistics & production management, entrepreneurship, marketing, and the management of small and medium-sized enterprises. In return, the WJA were able to advertise their vacant positions, including internships, technical papers, working student positions, dual study programs and permanent jobs, in order to attract the students straight from their books into the working world.
The Wirtschaftsjunioren Altmark, composed of more than 50 young entrepreneurs and managers from the Stendal district and the Altmark district of Salzwedel, discuss regional economic issues and actively contribute to various initiatives and projects in the region on a voluntary basis.
