What do you actually do with Engineering Ecology? An Alumni Report.
Until September 30, there is still the opportunity to enroll in the master's program in Engineering Ecology ("Ingenieurökologie"). Two former students report on their career paths after graduation:
Stella ... now a geoinformatician in a potash plant
Stella is originally from Estonia and graduated in 2021 with a Master's degree in Engineering Ecology from Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences. As she lives with her family in the Magdeburg area, she looked for a suitable job there and found it! She works as a geoinformatician at K+S in Zielitz. At the Zielitz potash plant, crude salts containing potassium are extracted for the production of, among other things, fertilizers, products for industrial applications as well as products for the feed and food industry. In terms of annual output, the plant is one of the largest and most modern potash plants in the world.

Thomas ... now manager for recycling management & quality assurance in a building materials company
Thomas, from Sandau, north of Stendal, graduated in 2022 with a master's degree in engineering ecology from Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences. With his young family, he has remained loyal to Magdeburg and has found a job here that he enjoys - at Cemex. He is responsible for (more) circular economy and the quality assurance of mineral raw materials in the company in Germany. That's something to build on! Cemex is a global building materials company that produces and sells cement, ready-mix concrete, mineral raw materials and concrete admixtures.
