Online Language Support (OLS) in the Erasmus+ Programme
The European Commission's Online Language Support is designed to help Erasmus+ participants improve the language skills required for their mobility abroad so participants can take full advantage of their mobility experience.
OLS is available in 29 languages and offers placement tests and language courses at levels A1-B2.
The language courses contain not only the actual lessons, but also additional content such as:
- ‘Let’s Go Further’ (consolidation activities)
- ‘Let’s Play’ (use new language skills by playing games)
- ‘Let’s Explore’ (knowledge about cultural intelligence)
- ‘How Do We Say…?’ (explore a specific linguistic, phonetic or cultural aspect of a language)
- ‘Boosts’ (supplementary activities that are triggered when a user fills in a personalised learning questionnaire)
Apart from the learning content presented above, forums are an integral part of helping participants learn a new language. In OLS learning communities each mobility participant can:
- benefit from the support of one of the 29 community managers;
- connect with other learners and find themselves a buddy to practice and exchange language skills;
- participate in the yearly OLS video contest;
- have fun thanks to the mini contests and speaking sessions organised for each community.
Erasmus+ participants will receive information from the International Office on how to access Online Language Support.
More information and initial insights into the learning content are available here.
